Last weekend Rusty and I celebrated our engagement with several friends and family at a Luau. Brenda and Ricky Hopkins (Rusty's mother and step father) threw the Luau for us. It was held in the back yard at their house. There was music, food, drinks, food, drinks, friends, football, family and fun. Some of the pictures are posted here for you to enjoy.
This is a picture of the back yard that was decorated for the Luau.
Under the white tent was where the food was kept and under the black tent is the well stocked bar. There was no shortage of drinks at this shin dig.

The palm tree served as a cooler for the beer as well as a decoration. It worked out very well. The ice and beer is kept in the trunk of the tree.
This is the two of us after the party. Rusty, his mother and his grandmother looking festive.
This is Ashley, my soon to be sister-in-law.
There are several more pictures that we ttok but for some reason blogger is not being very cooperative right now.The bif party is 34 days away!! I am getting very excited. The dress is taken care of (fits like a glove). The shoes are all set, veil is a done deal. The last few details are still being worked out but for the most part we are ready.
This weekend Rusty and I also finished another task pre-marriage...picking out crystal. We went to Belk and registered for a great glass that will look nice with the china. Have a look at www.belk.com. The last thing we have to do is get an engagement picture taken. We have yet to do this. We need to get this taken care of this coming weekend and get it in the paper. I have been ready to tell the greater Oconee/Clarke Co. area about our engagement.
Until the next post...

The Luau looked great! Everything seemed to be thought of! A great start to the BIG day!
Very nice! I wish we could have been there!
Of course you need to get your announcement out so the greater OC area knows the goings on!
